Each year the Wisconsin Indian Education Association celebrates the successes, embraces the challenges and looks to the future of Wisconsin Act 31. The Act or “Act 31”, as it is commonly referred to, requires all public school districts to provide instruction on the history, culture and sovereignty of Wisconsin’s eleven federally-recognized American Indian nations and tribal communities.
This year’s Act 31 celebration will be hosted by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin at their Menominee Resort Casino in Keshena, WI, and will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017, beginning at 4:30 pm.
